Community mental health is starting to wear on me. The community partners who catastrophize everything, the mandated clients who disappear for a month until someone tells them they are about to get discharged, and the kids who see us as part of the problem because mom and dad want them to show up.

This really is the darkest time line. I keep turning around and the world seems full of despair and horrible stories. (Yeah its full of good stuff too but we as a species have a negativity bias)

Hasty age verification laws leave our kids information vulnerable to data breeches. It leads to further use of vpns to circumvent these restrictions which are valid tools in several use cases. It becomes a problem when tools are disallowed because it makes it harder for these people to stay safe.

Really, if you are on the fence about 1-6% of the population (trans Americans)bc you want to have a sense of "normalcy" you likely live in a bubble where you don't know any trans people. And we're everywhere. You just don't know it because we aren't all obvious. Perhaps educate yourself about us.
