To quote my fav female artist, “I don’t start shit, but I can tell you how it ends…”. Today was the perfect day to demonstrate that. I voted yes. (I was in a rush after voting and forgot to take a picture 😱, so here’s just one of pure joy — for no other reason than to make you smile.)

We briefly had a visitor today, who flew out of the ceiling and took over a cubicle. And then he came to what I’m sure he thought was an untimely end. But we have no regrets about that.

This is an extraordinary speech, all the more so because it was written by the Prime Minister himself. It says something about how far we’ve fallen that neither in substance nor in tone could this speech have been delivered by the current occupant of the White House.

My career has been in criminal justice: formerly public defender and innocence protection attorney, and now chief prosecutor. Two things I’ve learned: full police power let loose on one group eventually turns on everyone; full police power is easy to turn on but nearly impossible to turn off.

Our Solar System is orbiting the center of our Galaxy at about 220 km/s so in 2025 we collectively traveled something like 7 billion kilometers across the Milky Way. I’m tired of watching hardworking folks beg for the basics while billionaires keep cashing in. 
Being able to put food on your table should never be a luxury. You can’t call yourself pro-life while letting families go hungry. 
You can’t shout “America First” while putting Americans last.

Jay made the point better than I have the last few days: the AG, arguably even more so than the governor, is the office that can effectively protect Virginia communities from the President’s authoritarian rampage. We can’t think that electing Spanberger alone will be enough.

The AG is independent of, and doesn’t answer to, the governor. Returning Miyares to office is placing him in the position to obstruct and block Spanberger’s agenda. If we fall for the false outrage and get frightened into abandoning Jay, Miyares as AG will remain Trump’s right hand in Richmond.

Here are 4 people working hard the last 24 hours got Miyares by attacking Jay : Trump, Vance, Miller, and Musk. It’s fine for us to engage in self critique as a party but let’s be clear about who and what we’ll face in Virginia with the wrong AG.

Jay is for criminal justice reform; Miyares isn’t. Jay is for women bodily autonomy; Miyares isn’t. Jay will support a Spanberger agenda; Miyares won’t. Jay will oppose Trump’s federal troops in our communities; Miyares won’t. Enough with the endless self flagellation. We have too much at stake.

I'll also add that the office of the AG is bigger than one candidate. Women's autonomy is literally on the line, not to mention our economy and educational instiutions. Again, Jay's words where horrific. But it's disqualifying that Miyares has done nothing to protect us from Trump's agenda.

Jay has publicly and unequivocally apologized. I respect him for taking responsibility and he deserves our support as the next VA AG. As for the Vice President, I’ll take morality lessons from him when he apologizes for endangering the lives of Haitians by lying that they eat people’s pets.
