I just had this amusing visual of an artist buying an ai art robot. But whenever the artist wants to draw, the bot appears and grabs the drawing media from the artist insisting to do it for them. NO. MASTER. ALLOW ME! I SHALL MAKE ART 4 U! YOU WILL NEVER HAVE TO HOLD A PENCIL AGAIN!

Ya wanna really up your drawing level? Draw simple shapes. Tons of simple shapes. Draw them till you see them in your sleep! Become obsessed with them and then you move over to round 2 which is forms and 3d shapes. And repeat endlessly! 🤪

I shed a tear when I see even the top level artists struggle to draw hands and most especially that damn thumb correctly. That is truly a struggle.

Our feature artist/tutorial today is this great page on FACIAL STRUCTURE by the talented @miyuliart! Once you can start VISUALISING the FORMS and CONTOURS of the face, placing the features with CORRECT ANGLES and OVERLAP becomes infinitely easier! #manga #anime #characterdesign

No pun today, just a mouse with a sword.

There is Spanish equivalent to The Masked Singer on Univision. When they introduce the character they have a cutscenes type segment. I am positive they were all created with Ai because it had that greasy instragram filtered uncanny look to it and it just felt disappointment in Mexico right then.

Some of you seemed interested in when or if I will be open for commissioned art. Well, good news is my day job is going to be a bit slow this time of year so I may be able to do sketches here in the future. I need to update my price sheet and keep you all posted once I get that going.

I realized the more I learn with art the more useless my how to art books become to me. :P

I half imagine the Ai stuff people do they sit there and grind over prompts and each and every time the characters are still melting with messed up hands and others coming out of their body with spooky faces till they just say, eh good enough!

A bit of level up advice and this helped me improve a ton. That is sketching wildly all over the place in the first draft. You want mostly try and focus on the shapes and forms you need. Simplicity is the key to having sketches more readable plus you aren't destroying your wrist in the process.

When Balto came out I was in love with the animation. Unfortunately I couldn't draw quadrupeds to save my life because I rarely drew them and perspective was difficult to understand. Still is. Drew this in 2002 and I remember struggling so much with it. the sketch i did it in my 10 mins.

I spent quite a bit of time trying to get familiar with all these game maker engines and out of all I gotta say Godot is really fun to use.
