Couldn’t resist completing the set of public domain “Wabbit and Friends” books, thanks to online discounts. The presentation of the material isn’t much, but they’re nice to have just to read the comics. (In retrospect, the paperback versions would have sufficed).

“Winnie the Pooh: A Very Merry Pooh Year” is perhaps one of the more under-appreciated Christmas specials in my collection. It’s a cute show.

The latest Donald Duck was a good one, featuring two stories. The first is a treasure hunt with Uncle Scrooge and Daisy, and the second has Fethry messing up Gladstone’s luck by making him question it. Well worth seeking out (and easier to find than the Golden Pineapple).

Drawing your own Christmas cards is hard…

“WHO’S the leader of Th’ club, Doc? Mickey Mouse? Never heard of him…”.

I think that I’ve watched “Christmas Flintstone” more times than the rest of the series. It’s usually on my Christmas watchlist.

“Here’s a tip for you…if you want to make people nervous, walk around with a clipboard and pretend to be making notes.”

Honestly, it was fun. Drawing was something that I did that I found relaxing. I liked trying to copy things that I liked and eventually create my own cartoons. For the most part, I was trying to entertain myself. Somewhere along the way, I feel that I lost some of that motivation.

Minnie Mouse has an adorable kitchen. I think she lives in a dollhouse, or has decorated her house to look like one.

Despite the sometimes weird-looking CGI animation, Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas is a pretty cute film. Donald’s story is my favorite of the group, and Minnie and Daisy’s ice skating contest is a side of the two of them you wouldn’t expect.

Forget The Grinch or Scrooge. I can relate to Donald in Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas the most. He just wants some peace, quiet and a cup of hot chocolate (as do we all). This expression is priceless.

While they were direct-to-home video movies, I usually try to find time to watch Mickey’s Once and Twice Upon a Christmas at this time of year. I never did get a copy of the comic book version.

59 years ago on this date, the world lost Walt Disney. He and his studio have certainly become a lot more controversial over the years since his death, but regardless, Walt has affected the world with his creations. It sounds sentimental, but I can’t imagine a world without Mickey Mouse.

“This Looks Like a Job For Duck Avenger” is a fun book that puts a different spin on Donald’s super anti-heroic alter ego as Donald tries unsuccessfully to find a job so Uncle Scrooge won’t discover Duck Avenger’s secret lair by repossessing Donald’s house.

Look, up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, wait, you were right the first time…it’s The Diabolical Duck Avenger! But he’s not up in the sky for very long…
