So disenchanted with social media and instant gratification and excessive scrolling and finding self worth through algorithms (as I shout this into the pit that is social media).

What turns me off to latex: majority of thin cis white people parading around in expensive pieces that cost as much as rent. That’s just not horny to me, I’m already bored.

I had some imposter feels at yesterday’s event. Putting your art out there is terrifying. It’s raw and split open. You watch someone hold your words as you sit in fear and self doubt. Sometimes they walk away without a word and sometimes they tell you how much it means to them. And I hold onto that.

Always interesting to see what’s a best seller at zine events by area. Tacoma, you’re not as horny and in pain as the other cities but you do like stories about a beloved senior dog.

Today is the anniversary of the Lahaina fires and my heart still feels ripped and pained. I’ll never forget the panic in my mom’s voice when she called to tell me and how I couldn’t wrap my head around the news. Even after seeing it in person, it all felt so unbelievable. Fuck.

Reading comments on 90s music videos on youtube to feel a collected sense of nostalgia. Painfully sweet and heart wrenching.

It’s fucked to have someone cause a lot of harm and hurt you and years later others come out and the experience is so similar and nothing changes. Please do not immediately trust someone just because they have a huge following, work with bands, or whatever else is an indicator of popularity.

So full of emotions and bloody bandages bulging and I’m so thankful for swiss cheese summer and bleeding in the sun and having a body even if it hurts because goddamn do I soar higher and higher and higher.

There’s always a comedown after zine events where I over analyze conversations, doubt myself and my work, and feel like I’m not good enough. Then I give it a pause and keep creating because time is so goddamn fleeting.

I’m home again. Thank you to Daddy for making this early birthday gift happen and to my dear friend Sam for her support and to Cryptid Creek Suspensions for reuniting me with the intensities I hold so close to my heart. I am eager to see what comes next. To growing scars and glowing in crimson.

Thoughts and emotions and more to follow. Yesterday’s reunion bathed in light and crimson was what my yearning heart needed. I am home again.

Tomorrow I will reunite with something so sacred to me. I cannot wait to bleed it out. To make space for the feelings. To welcome my body coming home.

Sometimes I feel too much for zine spaces and not enough in other art spaces. In this hellish timeline, at least I can take comfort that I don’t create soulless AI art and that it all comes from a hideous, pulsating, messy place. I’d rather create “bad” art than nothing at all.
