Remains of Roman fortlet found under house gardens in Bearsden (north of Glasgow). The Antonine Wall was built after AD 142 by the Roman Army on the orders of its emperor Antoninus Pius. If it was our garden I would be very excited - my wife less so😂.

Lovely study of a Daimler Dingo in Tunisia. IWM NA 1120 Details in ALT. The Dingo was a very popular vehicle with the enemy to. The Germans called them ‘Flitzer’ (‘Dasher’) while the Italians did it the ultimate flattery of copying it as the ‘Lince’ (Lynx), manufactured by Lancia.

V Force wasn't just regular soldiers. It relied on the bravery of local hill tribes—the Naga,Chin&Lushai people, or people like the anthropologist Ursula Graham Bower. Their knowledge of the geography of the Burma/India frontier was the ultimate weapon against invasion.

On 20 February 1942 two of the victorious commanders of Operation CRUSADER were recognised by the award of Bars to their Distinguished Service Orders, Brigadiers Willison, who had effectively commanded the Tobruk breakout, and Watkins, who was in command of 1 Army Tank Brigade under 13 Corps.
