Currently at the 2025 Gerstein Holocaust Education Travel Fund presentations—a really awesome thing that we have at Butler, our students have access too, and opportunities to learn, study, and advance knowledge of the Holocaust.

Started my day by giving a little talk at Tabernacle Presbyterian Church.

Not only did I learn earlier this week that I’d be back at the Indiana Historical Society’s Holiday book fair in December (and yes, Eisenhower & the Holocaust will be on sale) BUT I also signed a contract to write my next book with the IHS as well! I’m very excited about both these developments!

It was an honor and a privilege to talk with a TOLI group of educators about Eisenhower & the Holocaust today. They represent 20 states and are learning ways to incorporate Holocaust education into their classrooms…and they had some great questions!

At the Allied Museum, I was honored to give a presentation on Eisenhower & the Holocaust as the guest speaker of the Berlin Historical Association. Special bonus, the students sat with BHA members at the post-talk reception and had great conversations.

Got to speak about Eisenhower & the Holocaust today at Vincennes University. A big thank you to everyone who came out and to those who watched on Zoom.

80 years ago today elements of the 89th Inf. and 4th Armored Div. liberated Ohrdruf. About a week later, Ike visited the camp and the decisions he made changed the course of the war and the peace that followed. In 3 weeks, I’ll be talking about such things at the Eisenhower Presidential Library.

Between now and mid-June I have nearly a dozen speaking engagements on Eisenhower & the Holocaust! I can’t wait to hit the road (and the WiFi) to talk about why 80 years later what Ike saw at Ohrdruf, and the camps & people the Allies liberated, still matters.

For the fourth time it was my pleasure to lead a short term study abroad trip to Paris. Here we studied art, history, religion, and culture—and the impact on those things when we consider not just nationalism but also transnational corporations (in our case, Disney).

Last night I received an email from someone who had read my Eisenhower & the Holocaust book, I'm happy to share the following from that message: "Very well done! One of the best documented books I have read in over a year."

80 years ago, Auschwitz was liberated. Today we commemorate this moment as the International Holocaust Day of Remembrance. In April we will recall Ike’s visit to Ohrdruf and how that moment shaped how we remember the Holocaust and the call to never forget.

Have taken a few steps closer this week to 2 really big opportunities to talk about Eisenhower & the Holocaust. And to top it off, we’ve secured enough students for our (still) annual study abroad trip to Germany this summer. I very much look forward to being back in Berlin!
