Hats off to Ukraine for their cunning and daring — demonstrating they can strike anywhere in Russia, raising the cost to Putin domestically, specifically targeting dual-capable systems to show they’re not afraid of escalation. Brilliant plan, well executed.

A beautiful painting. The juxtaposition of the modern lines of the frigate with the antiquity of the scenery is really striking.

Distinguishing moral values and national interests is a favourite game of 'realist' theorists; despite the fact that extracting morality from politics is one of the least realistic things you can imagine. 'Russia war: Why China Chose Interests Over Values'
