Great to see Ursula Clark's photography for 'Architecture of Scotland' (Oriel Press, 1969) celebrated in the latest @studies.in.photography journal (Winter 2025). Thanks to @johnpelan for his article about last November's one-day @studies.in.photography conference held @natlibscot in Edinburgh.

Kevin McCloud delivered a lecture for SAVE’s 50th anniversary celebrations. This struck a chord. 'When we bulldoze buildings we also destroy the collective memory, culture and identity of the communities they belong to.' It's a reminder that buildings are far more than just materials. ⛪

This essay by Arnold Genthe isn't available online in an easily accessible form, so I've transcribed it. If you like photo history this might be of interest.

From my collection: a British tintype of four gentlemen with their bikes. Presumably late Victorian/early Edwardian. Are there any bicycle historians out there who could add more detail?

Now, for something different and creative, go check this original, creative, and beautiful work (wet plates, cyanotype prints,…). She reposts more than she posts but everything on there is worth checking out. Good taste!
