On this day series... Birth of the English architect Sir Arthur William Blomfield in 1829. A prolific Gothic Revival architect, Blomfield built and sensitively restored many churches in the UK and overseas, the latter including Christ Church Cathedral, Port Stanley, Falkland Islands (1890-92).
