So much talk about spoiled votes, but virtually zero about the 900,000+ Irish citizens who voted for Connolly and the 15,000 volunteers who campaigned for her - nothing about what they want and represent and hope for. No, Irish media and politics insist you engage with those who can't be bothered.

If you do nothing for Nature but one thing this week - get onto your email and let your public representative have it - this clear- felling of native Irish woodland can't be let stand. Clear-felling not only destroyed some of the very few native trees left in Ireland, but a whole habitat with it.

If you don't think you can do it, the solution is obvious. Stand aside and allow someone with the courage to lead, lead us. This is exactly what any ordinary worker would be told. If you can't do the job, we'll let someone else who can. Best of luck with your future endeavours etc.
