It was good to meet again with @charitydebra.bsky.social  this week at the Scottish Parliament where I hosted a reception. We heard from those with lived experience of Epidermolysis bullosa (EB), and more about the work Debra are looking to take forward to improve the lives of those with EB.

There has been significant concern over the UK Government’s National Insurance increases on employment. Despite that we have thankfully saw unemployment fall to 3.7% in Scotland. It has risen to 5% in the UK (ONS figures July to September).

I have today contacted Glasgow City Council about the recurring flooding under the railway bridge in Summerston. I asked for an update on what steps are being taken to address this recurring issue and what is being done to ensure the safety and accessibility of this vital route for the community

Action on Off-Road Vehicle and E-Bike Misuse I was pleased to have confirmed to me that Police Scotland are reviewing guidance around the confiscation of off-road vehicles and often (illegally modified) e-bikes which are being misused by small group of irresponsible users.

In the Scottish Parliament, I led a members' debate on the SNP Government’s abolition of peak rail fares. This gave me a chance to again call for improved frequency of services on the Maryhill line. Abolition can also help increase the frequency of local services, as, hopefully, more people travel.
