In the last month, I platinumed Pragmata which was great, Mouse PI for Hire which would be better with some quality of life updates, Vampire Crawlers which was somehow just as addictive as its predecessor, and now I’m on to South of Midnight. It’s a good time to be a gamer.

In Lake Forest, CA, the gas was $6.50 a gallon this morning. $55 got me a little over 8 gallons where it got me almost 12 gallons this time last year. I would love to see a thread where everyone calls out how much they pay at the pump compared to a year ago.

I’m about 2/3 of the way through Mouse PI and I’m not loving it for three reasons. 1) it overstays its welcome by a lot 2) it’s missing major quality of life stuff like the ability to revisit previous locations, select locations off a list, keep track of thing (how many side quests have I completed)

Playing Dishonored for the first time in a while and initially felt like it was way too hard but got the hang of it again. My biggest gripe to this day is that there isn’t something in the hud or menu telling you if you’ve been seen or killed an enemy to avoid having to replay a level from scratch.

So I just finished Forspoken and I think the the whole experience can be summed up by a line of dialog from the game: “That’ll be a pushover!” On the surface, it’s a fine enough game with a fine enough story, fine enough mechanics, and fine enough…well, everything. Which is kind of the problem.

I’ve noticed that people in my age group (40+) seem to have a New Years movie they watch every year. My wife and I do Gremlins 2: The New Batch every December 31st. Who else has a fun movie tradition?
