I’ve written stories since I was in the single digits. There was a long and sporadic hiatus due to upheaval in my life during my 20’s. I made a commitment to return to hobbies that gave me joy and now I’m trying to write a black lesbian romance as a solo working mom.

Something people may not realize: a lot of the paper used to print books in the US are from China. In fact, a lot of the books are PRINTED in China, esp the ones from big publishers. Expect the price of paper books to really hike soon. If you want paper copies of your favorite books, get them now.

After reading oldies that I enjoyed, I have come to realize why so many popular books don’t hit for me. I feel most modern books lack purpose & structure. That’s why so many of yall complain that the middle & ends lag & that a book could have been cut in half.

Living in state where Black folks make up nearly 40% of the population, I always find it disconcerting that youngish yt folks are always the dominant face of LGBTQ+ organizations. There is hardly room for other voices & it’s rarely challenged.

Stop begging Nonblack authors to write black characters please..that just shows me that you don’t read books by black authors…ugh…you want mafia books go read a mafia book from a black author that has all black characters in it…
