On January 8, 1961, Lynwood “Schoolboy” Rowe, one of the most colorful stars of the 1930s Detroit Tigers, died of a heart attack in El Dorado, Arkansas, at age 50.

According to this document it would have been 12/2/54. My aunt-in-law and her older sisters saw him at one of the Fall 1954 Houston shows, and Memphis/Shreveport/Houston appeared to be his main haunts.
