It’s easy to say that this is the last desperate hurrah of a dying party, but can we be clear: Trump’s ICE agents are literally kidnapping people, detaining them without due process in concentration camps (yes, this is the right term) and 1000s have disappeared. These are fascist practices.

They ran a diagnostic, then shelved the file. “All systems nominal.” After that, clocks stuttered. Permissions floated. Birds started flying at night. The system split half watching and half forgetting.

I don't feel a stranger to the many immigrants who enrich our country. They are our friends, neighbours, colleagues, partners. They teach our children, care for our loved ones, amongst a hundred other things. The real strangers are Starmer/Farage/Badenoch, and all the rest, who stir up this hate.

This should be in the email inbox of everyone in Scotland. They should know what kind of man Anas Sarwar is. It's, somehow, real. Looking forward to him losing his seat next year. No one who cosies up to Trump deserves a seat in our parliament.

To be clear, this policy is repulsive, and that needs to be expressed again and again. But I really think it's worth stating that it's also tactically, strategically, politically suicidal. It's the most clear-cut bad idea in contemporary politics. It always fails. It's the dog that just won't hunt.
