this is good. the problem isn't that the "hype" diagnosis is incorrect, but that it fails to address—and to some degree actively obscures—the conjoined social, economic, and political forces pushing us toward mass "AI" adoption.

It's a deskilling device. From the perspective of capital/the ledger book, productivity increases/labor-saving look the same as wage depression. One decreases the time needed per unit output, the other the wage cost per unit time. But both decrease the costs per unit output.
