I’ve got a feeling I don’t want to know.
pinned post!
Charity shop find of the day (or week, month etc.). Don’t know much about Cimar guitars, but looks to be a Japanese Ibanez cheapo thing. A bit battered, but only 10 tho. Quick cleanup/restring/truss rod adjustment & it sounds pretty good

Hoping my home town still has enough of this sentiment to vote in the greens today. Taken on the day my mum moved out & delighted to preserve some 40 yo graffiti that burned its way into my skull on countless trips to the sweet/video shop

💯. As with Barney & Stephen, the dude could’ve not played a note after 1980 & still been one of the most unique & iconic players of his generation.

Post a pic of the venue where you saw your first concert/artist. Not counting covers bands in the caravan club it was this. Godley & Creme weren’t in the lineup. My mum won some tickets at work

A shame The Lighthouse Family were too early for the soft/ yacht rock revival. Wasn’t there a Balearic remix at one point? I guess they had to settle for millions of record sales & massive fame

Obviously I watched this earlier and, yes, obviously I googled how old the actors were at the time and, yes obviously I’m the same age as Robert Shaw was

Back from The Shining at the BFI IMAX. The US cut with the - mostly - superfluous bits, although great to see Anne Jackson’s utterly aghast response, as Shelley Duvall explains how Jack hurt Danny’s arm

at a fairly rapid pace. Too fast now to listen to every song I’m reading about. Fascinating that jdb based the riff for Yes on Penguin Cafe Orchestra’s Music for a found Harmonium. Oddly, this feels as subversive as his balaclava on totp

A movie that takes place where you’re from. Richard Gere famously burned his bridges in Tameside when he said in interview that Stalybridge was the worst place he’d ever been on location. Frankly, he can do one.

Had to bail on the gig last Sunday as I was too middle-aged to handle a start time of after 10pm. Anyway, this arrived today while I was waiting for a boiler to get fitted & I’m slowly warming up to it tonight

Took a guitar maintenance course, now - after 30 years of playing - I’m not terrified of breaking them & can actually set up a guitar. Just as well the ‘doomscrolling for middle-aged men’ course was booked solid

Now playing. A recent £1 find. Had ignored most JH posthumous stuff tbh & the genesis of this sounds like a total car crash (probably a drop in the ocean when we see what AI is gonna do w/most deceased artist’s legacy). Some absolute jams on it tho
