I spoke to Oot Scotland about why despite the abuse I receive as a trans woman of colour in politics, hope must ALWAYS win 💚

A year ago today I fought for my local community, achieving the second best @scottishgreens.org Westminster result in history 💚 And I wouldn’t change it for the world, we’ll keep fighting for that better world, no matter how much the government tries to push us down ‼️

5 years ago today I was referred to a gender identity clinic. I am still waiting to be seen. Odds are - I won’t be seen for another 10 years. Vital healthcare is being withheld from myself and thousands of others and the establishment does not care. How do we even fight that?

This new guidance by Scottish Trans advocates responding to the EHRC “consultation” by writing to the Equalities Minister, since the government, not the EHRC, is the only organisation that can change the law. It is important the government is not allowed to escape ultimate responsibility.

Spent today in HLS for the upcoming by-election putting forward why a green vote is a good vote. With so many being left behind, we cannot let reform pick up what’s left. We must be the party of hope 💚

Labour and Tory activists falling over themselves to applaud Jenrick for his populist musings. Instead of chasing fare dodgers, who in many cases can’t afford to pay @glasgowgreens.bsky.social secured a free public transport pilot. Don’t criminalise poverty.

Less than 2 hours from Starmer’s speech. The government has just announced they will be ignoring Article 8 (the right to family life) and tearing communities apart. One of Glasgow Labour’s MSPs thinks he can mock us, talking about the importance of community . Our lives are a joke to them.

When my great grandparents joined the Windrush generation they were not ‘strangers’. They were coming to re-build the homeland, my Nana as a nurse, my Pop as a builder. We were never strangers in our own country. Disgusting racism from the heart of government. We are no lesser than.

this is the perfect time for the green party to stake our claim as the mass movement of trade unions and the left, with bold leadership which isn’t scared to upset bourgeois political niceities, and can cut through the media’s sycophantic coverage of farage and take control of the narrative.

Environmentalism without class struggle is just gardening.
