Thing is, I never know if this is an ADHD thing or a common thing across neurotypes? 🤷🏻‍♀️ I definitely experience this but not sure if it’s linked to my neurodivergence or not.

Too many on the left still see autism as a “middle class issue.” It’s not. Being poor or working class just makes diagnosis near impossible. Autism isn’t middle class. Access to recognition is. 1/5

Compulsory ID cards would be a bad idea at the best of times, but imagine trying to bring them in when there's a very serious threat of a properly far-right government coming in at the next election.

I wish people would stop fixating on causes and cures for Autism and neurodiversity more broadly. It's time people listen to us, especially Neurodivergent people of color, women and others who are often excluded. Let actually Autistic and Neurodivergent people take the lead. This shouldn't be hard.

It’s a fair point! Autism is a variation of being human, maybe it’s time to think about how we communicate with each other & how we can make it easier for people whose brains work differently to get along. We don’t force left handed people to write with their right hand any more… things can change.

I’m honestly so tired of the BS around autism and ‘cause’. I’m yet to see a single case where their motive behind ‘finding the cause of autism’ wasn’t embedded in eugenics. If somebody goes on about finding the cause of autism, always ask why they are seeking it.

This “announcement” is terrifying.

One thing I’m grateful for is I don’t have to spend the rest of my life not knowing I’m neurodivergent.

One thing I’ve learnt about myself is that when my inattentiveness massively increases, it’s a sign my anxiety levels are high. #ADHD

Neurotypical people are often in such a rush to humanise machines that they forget to humanise neurodivergent people.

My prediction for autism research in the next few years is all the robot studies trying to teach autistic children “normal” communication will switch to using AI in attempt to achieve the same “goal” 🤦🏻‍♀️

I fell in the trap again of comparing where I am at in life with neurotypical peers. Then I had to remind myself that they likely did not face the same challenges as me, and we're not on the same life path. And that living a neurotypical life would make me so miserable.

Social media reminded me it’s been 7yrs since Milo came home, look at him on his first day as a family member!

For the first time ever, I’ve been awarded PIP correctly without having too much of a battle. What’s in the air at DWP? This is so unlike them!

One of the best things I’ve managed to do as an autistic adult is to lean into more of my interests and not try to suppress them anymore. It’s like a breath of fresh air.

Watching Educating Yorkshire reminded me of how hostile school was as a neurodivergent kid.

What I’ve notice when it comes to reading neurotypical social norms, I may miss things first time around, but once I get to know someone more and start to see a pattern emerge, then it’s crystal clear and I can’t unsee things. Any other autistics experience this?

Nothing is creepier than a man I don’t know coming into my social media DMs to speculate if I’m autistic or not… Mansplaining and ableism in one is a terrible look to say the least.

Rejection sensitivity is too much for my liking right now. Just waiting for it to pass (and hopefully quickly).

When it comes to ADHD and impulse spending something I’ve found helpful is accountability from people I trust. I’ve had a lot of impulse urges to spend recently, but talking it through before purchasing has been the difference of being able to resist the urge to spend unnecessarily.
