learning programming is hard for my mid-30s brain but at least godot's gdscript is pretty easy and has a nice course for learning it

ice never stopped killing people and destroying lives btw. they managed to get the news cycle to stop focusing on it but that never stopped happening.

this work was NEVER repetitive. there was no time to potentially save with AI. it was constant series of unique problems to solve. all of which we solved and coded ourselves, so that we could maintain the code and take responsibility if some issues appeared from it. why risk further issues with AI?

90% of the 6 months of development time was spent on making the game into something people would actually want to play. which involved long discussions in the team about what features to add, how to implement them, profiling and optimizing everything, testing them, etc. AI ain't helping anyone here.

the argument for vibecoded recomps are silly. it took us 3 weeks to have unleashed recomp playable without using any AI. I coded xenonrecomp in like 2 weeks. the repetitive part where the AI can "potentially" save you time is actually the easiest part. making the game an actual PC port is way harder

the funniest thing about bethesda announcing these games as damage control is that this is a company that takes 10 years to make a game so preproduction means Nothing
