It saddens me greatly that I have seen people say "im asexual so it doesn't matter to me" about the rise in censorship- not exclusive to bsky btw; it does matter to you. Your sexual orientation does not give you moral high ground. I dont know how to explain you should care about other people.

Just because you personally dont see the value of sex scenes doesn't mean they're irrelevant. It is not a moral failing to like porn and it shouldn't be erased

To me, the issue is that you cannot apply the concept of consent to fiction because consent requires consciousness. Fiction is not conscious. The characters do not actually exist. So how is there any determination of consent? Bsky has not defined this in the ToS update. #bskycensorship

One reason why I came to bsky from Instagram was that I was tired of only posting sfw drawings and if I didn't, I'd get shadowbanned or worse... Here we have a nice thing called "labels", so every time I click on "show" I consent to viewing nsfw. Why additional censorship? #BskyCensorship

Bluesky moderation has proven that they cannot identify actual sexual content. I do not trust them to ban only noncon sex And even then noncon deserves to exist with flags. Also the rules about self harm are ridiculous They do not owe anyone to be educational about their experience #bskycensorship

Even as an artist who doesn't do noncon work, it's still extremely important to protect those who do from this puritanical/prudish censorship! If the policy goes through in October as scheduled, expect a ton of artists to jump ship and/or reduce their posting significantly here. #bskycensorship
