Today, HB 475 passed the Montana Senate with bipartisan support! Most states already restrict the use of leg and waist restraints on local inmates who are giving birth. With the passage of this bill, Montanans will finally be protected as well.

Together with the ALCU and ACLU of Montana, we filed a lawsuit last Thursday that challenges Montana’s anti-trans bathroom ban. Today, a state court issued an emergency order that temporarily blocks the state from enforcing the law.
