My school has fokkol chill, I swear. The kids just got back from a 2-week winter vacation. Monday was a public holiday so we started on Tuesday. Nice, so they had time to relax and spend quality time with their families, right? Lol no. They wrote tests for the first 2 hours of the first day of term.

COVID test round three. Unlike with many things, the experience does not, in fact, get better with time or practise. Fully expecting it to be negative, but decided to rather err on the side of caution. Please cross fingers for me to fail the bloody test this time.

Sometimes the universe seems harsh and unrelenting. But then I remember that potatoes exist. And I'm technically an adult, which means I could eat them multiple times every day. And then the universe still seems harsh, but at least it has potatoes, and that makes things a bit easier.

Today, I was interviewing some of our (Japanese) students as they compete to see who goes on an exchange programme to the USA. I asked one, "What would you want to ask American high school students? What do you want to learn about them?" Kid deadass said "What's your favourite Japanese food?"

COVID got me again. Slept for 11 hours. Now I must eat in order to take my meds, but zero appetite. On the upside, S02 of Our Flag Means Death has dropped some episodes, and Butt Creed: Black Flag is exactly mindless enough for when I feel kak. So it's a pirate-themed sick leave this time around.
