The media narrative this week will be that this is bad and China shouldn't have done this. But also it's good that the US did this for the past decade and kept adding additional export restrictions and sanctions on China.

Contrary to what people might think religion is actually moral relativism. I donāt know why people think otherwise. It is very obvious if you ever talk to anyone religious they cherry pick and do whatever the fuck to the actual teachings to fit their superiority complex

america runs on americans believing that no matter how challenging things get here, that we still have it remarkably better than the rest of the world. if we knew what life was like in other countries the whole thing would be so much harder for them to manage

Hereās the bottom line for whatās going on with Grok - if the owner of the website is putting his thumb on the scale hard enough for the chatbot to turn into Goebbels, you should be deeply concerned about what heās doing to the algorithm that you canāt so easily see, and what itās doing to you

What we are living through is the PEAK of "drained pool politics" Drained pool politics is the termination or defunding of public resources due to the will of one group, whether they also use the resource or not. Think the end of public pools nationwide b/c white people refused to integrate

No matter how often I see this data, I always find it shocking. Of all the massive growth in output produced by the world's workers since 1980, more than half of it has been captured by the richest 1%. This is what happens when capital controls production.

ā¬ļøPerhaps the best part of this directory is the screenshots for "Mario Smash", the cancelled Mario game for Virtual Boy. These are VERY high quality and high resolution. The pixels are clean enough, someone could accurately recreate them all in pixel art with some patience.

The original argument was that Trump wanted to bring manufacturing back to the US. E.g. tech products. If you build in the US, some high tech components required to be imported from China would be subject to a 145% tariff. If you build the product in China and ship to the US, it's a 20% tariff.

China didn't steal your jobs, nor did it steal US IP. The US exported both deliberately. Jobs were moved to China for higher returns, sacrificing domestic labor. That's not theft, itās just capitalism functioning as intended. The tariff exemptions align with that.

One thing people need to understand is that the US could literally just work together with China and create a better world for everyone with abundance. Itās precisely because the US wants to maintain its hegemony and does not want other countries to develop that weāre in this mess.
