I’ve done *a lot* of weeding in my lifetime so I guess I’m lucky it never went like it did in THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN! Had one ex-friend tell people there was something psychologically wrong with me for weeding her. I’m a believer in appreciating relationships but also moving on with no regrets.

Good thing I got my snow tires on Monday night! (2-10cm of snow tonight - I’M NOT READY!) But I need a new battery. Mine lasted 8 years (unbelievable!). That time, Dad was alive & I’d taken him to the Ophthalmologist & back home. While I was mailing a letter, my car died in front of the mailbox.

This post of Andrew Wyeth’s Christina’s World by @weinberg.social reminded me that I saw Gordon Wesley Rayner, Sr.’s Tally-Ho & its description said it seems to be similar in composition, which was cool to me! Wyeth was one of my late Dad’s fave artists & he loved Christina’s World especially.

Fell asleep in the 15th inning & have to say, this World Series has been some great baseball so far. Yamamoto pitching Game 2 - he was just too good - and this morning’s 18 inning loss - so close & both teams played their hearts out. I can’t be upset & no matter what, I’m proud of the Jays!

Got lots done on this beautiful Fall Saturday: went to last Farmers Market of the Season in the boonies, getting my left lens redone of my glasses (has a chip), checked out the new La Maison Simons downtown (huge with a great selection, my fave department store) and walked in the sunshine & warmth.

Got my flu shot by walking into a pharmacy. I really wanted to get it at my GP’s office but they hadn’t been received yet (probably in two weeks). My Mom’s Doctor does a drive by flu shot blitz which I so appreciate.

Yesterday was my cousin’s birthday. I think about him a lot and worry about him. I hope he’s okay. 💔

Just finished my 1st Thanksgiving Dinner of the weekend in time for the first ALCS game. 😱 My Mom & Roman are passed out from my cooking. 😂 I made a Roasted Duck, Everything Bagel Stuffing (using the last of my Everything Bagel spice @justgeorgeaz.bsky.social), Mashed Potatoes & Radicchio Salad.

It’s amazing how good my fasting blood sugar reading is when I don’t binge at night. I realize as soon as I feel stressed I think about eating. 😕 Working on my IGT by reading & implementing the book, Postdiabetic. Liking it so far.

Had a FANTASTIC meal at the new Michelin-starred (much deserved), aKin. The 10 Course Tasting Menu with Snacks theme by Chef Eric Chong was so playful & progressively delicious. The double chicken skin Karaage, Hokkaido uni Tom Yum, Hainan Chicken Rice & Miyazaki Wagyu Beef were standouts to me.

TWO bike rides this week! One around the neighbourhood where I grew up (and showed Roman the sights) & the other on Caledon Trailway Path, for about 70 minutes total. Not bad. I did fall off my bike once though…it’s not *that* easy relearning to bike after 28 years!

Saw with my Dad how as he declined with PSP, most of his friends just disappeared (even his brother) except for his three diehard BFFs and now seeing this with my Mom, how her friends don’t call or want to see her (I offer to drive). I know she is not the same but..😞 It really makes me sad.

Finally got to try this samosa place where everyone seems to say they make the best ones. Ordered all of their offerings: veggie, dal, paneer, chicken & beef. So far my fave is the beef but I still have to eat their veggie & dal samosas. Mom found the dal a bit spicy (and she can take heat so…)!
