Working on some Death Trash scene art today.

I have become more efficient and productive over the last years, but I feel more and more like a person stuck in the past, not using AI tools. (I see how they can be useful and time-saving in some cases, but I hate basically everything else about them.)

Playing Bloodborne intensively while lying sick in bed for days is one of my favorite gaming memories. Perfect immersion for the sickness theme of that game. (Nothing to do with playing video games badly, sorry.)

Working on some level design today.

I feel old, sitting on the train, not swiping my phone.

So in Arc Raiders there is a door glitch. You don't need to know what it is, just that the gamers are brainstorming all the "easy" ways to "fix" the doors and it's simultaneously hilarious and horrifying. My two favorite solutions are "add a kill volume" and "put a second door behind the door".

Got an e-mail from some fresh indie devs, asking what it would cost to make a game like Death Trash, and I am inclined to answer: TEN YEARS OF YOUR LIFE AND THE LAST SHRED OF YOUR SANITY!

Got a technical bug report via e-mail, with nice words, description and screenshot. Investigated the issue. Wrote a reply listing what the person could try in this case. E-mail could not be delivered. "This mailbox is disabled." This job can be frustrating sometimes.

I admit the Death Trash Early Access has been very long. But it's disappointing, pushing out a major update, getting closer to the finish line, and Steam reviews landing at mixed, because "development hell", "never getting finished", "work harder" and the critics not even playing the latest version.

I return to this quote from David Foster Wallace quite often: Learning how to think really means learning how to exercise some control over how and what you think. It means being conscious and aware enough to choose what you pay attention to and to choose how you construct meaning from experience.

Can't believe I've done this shit 50 times I'm not going to say it's one of the biggest, consistently running game-related meetups in the world... but I think it is? Not counting meetups in bars where people only mingle and network, which is different than what we've been doing with #TalkAndPlay

I am looking for a technical solution for this scenario: Playing a classic singleplayer PC game with mouse(!) any keyboard, but with two people on different computers, like a "virtual hot seat". So a shared screen scenario with people being able to switch controls, and performant enough for games.
