Modified this #art following the failure of a few days ago & gonna have a second shot at carving and printing it. Fish are a bit thicker because they were filling in with extra ink. Also made it a night sky now because thematically it's just better, even if readability slightly suffers. #linoprint

Think I did ok today for the first time in way too long. - Prepped a new sourdough to bake tomorrow. - Sent a message/reply I'd been dragging my feet on. - Finally got back to doing portfolio rigging & worked ~2 hours on it. - Did a little bit of drawing. - Didn't fall into an anxiety spiral.

Finally resuming work on portfolio rigging... Although I am starting over. Even if I don't do much; Even if I only do 5 minutes, I have to tell myself that's ok, because that's 5 minutes more than I manages for the past 3-4 months. I just need to get started again. 1/3

After this morning's frustration, I managed to carve and test print a new block. This was test printed with water-based ink, and I'm surprised how ok it came out, considering what bad luc I've had with water-based ink in the past. #art #linocut #linoprint

Bad mood! A recent print got totally messed up. The lino bloc is ruined now. Materals have been wasted. And all I got from it was about 6 misprints, nothing useable, or certainly not that I can put out into the world. I loved the design, but now I need to start over from scratch if I want to use it

jack asked if i would sketch up a poster to tell people in nearby neighborhoods about the partnership between flock and ring, and this is what i came up with. it can be printed on an 8.5x11 sheet of paper.

Ok, I think I figured out how I can ship prints to the US... and the answer is, unfortunately, jack up prices for US orders to cover tarrifs, and then do all the tarrif prepaying, lable ordering, and customs forms myself. A big pain in the ass, but I think it's gotta be done. 🧵

Instead of "the art is cartoony BUT good" how about "the art is cartoony and really good."? Maybe it's a pet peeve. But nails on chalkboard... the caveat "it's cartoony"... "BUT I like it" bugs the shit out of me. Just LIKE IT. You don't have to waffle about it. "Cartoony" is not negative.

All the "system doesn't matter" talk today, I just do not care for. All my experience playing ttrpgs tells me that the sytem you use absolutely, inescapably, DOES matter. "System doesn't matter" just screams of "use DnD for everything" when other games could be better suited for what you want.

With all due respect "system doesn't matter" is a genuinely destructive statement that is outright insulting to anyone who has spent any time doing any sort of game design in ttrpgs. The *only* saving grace of the statement is the context that it was originally pushback against some shitlords.

Warning, another complaint post!! I've been setting up an ETSY store to sell prints (yes, I know they're kinda shit, but I'm not sure where else to do this in a way that will be easy enough for dumb-ol'-me), and I think I mostly have it ready, minus listings... but holy hell does the process suck!

I should revisit my alcohol markers and see how they work alongside my more preferred mediums.

Yesterday was ok, mentally. A little foldrums in the late sfternoon, but otherwise fine. Today, I think I'm quickly sinking into the mire of despair again.

If they existed,would I be allowed to have a pet deathclaw IRL? I will NOT properly take care of it... because I will be too frieghtened to get close enough to take proper care of it. And yes, I will die by its hand, and yes, it will be deserved, and yet it will be narratively satisfying.
