I need to properly sort my thoughts out as it’s been a long two weeks, but I think framing these talks as a failure overlooks the fact that high ambition states refused to accept a waste management treaty where we go from here is unclear, but I think there remains grounds for optimism

The SPP on chemicals, waste & pollution is established. But it is a Pyrrhic victory. So much Compromise makes the future of the Panel bleak and uncertain.

It's only Day 2, but concerns are already being raised about the slow pace of progress. There are only a couple of days remaining to finalize the design of a new science-policy panel for chemicals, waste & pollution.
