I had to dig through some old emails this morning and found a story pitch from 2006 about roller derby. The line "No one can write about girls beating each other up to win a race better than I can" was good enough for my college magazine and I wish it was so easy these days.

Getting inundated with scammy emails today from pretending to be book club organizers. Authors beware!

Last night I watched "Bring Her Back" and I can't stop thinking about it. It really goes there. Weird, bleak, haunting...a great horror film.

I just finished reading a book that feels like it was written by someone whose whole life is on the internet. And it's not good.

I really love working with publishers whose catalogue shows they care about literature and new voices. I think indie publishing is where the important risks get taken, where we keep art alive.

Super tempted to travel to London next year for the Damned's 50th anniversary show. It's right before my birthday, too. And I could go to Stonehenge again.

Had a very excellent weekend of going to sidewalk sales and and wandering around and drinking wine and running into friends at random.

I had so much fun seeing the Damned again last night! They remain my all-time favourite punk band and Dave Vanian is my most enduring celebrity crush 🖤 I hope they come back again soon. 🦇

People are often skeptical of tarot because they only know the mainstream idea of it - that it tells the future - and don't look further from there. In reality, many people who use tarot use it to reflect upon their feelings. You can't say it's not real when it directly speaks to a person's truth.

I miss very few things about Toronto.

I found the most incredible two-piece outfit at Talize yesterday. True vintage, from the '80s, with a made in USA label. $17 second hand. Fits perfectly 🖤 I can't wait to wear it to the Waterboys concert this week.

I need examples of people who successfully build their lives off chasing novelty. Is this a thing that is possible?

Decided to get tickets for the Who next week because apparently I have not been to enough concerts this year and I also think money grows on trees.

Yesterday I heard someone jokingly say The Whom instead of The Who and I think that's how it should be from now on.

The Oasis show was fun last night. The crowd was all-in but there was a lot less chaos than I was expecting. I thought it was going to get next-level sloppy but it was actually very orderly. And Rogers Stadium was also fine as a venue. Fast entry, efficient merch line, bars everywhere. It was OK!

Trump's dumbass tariffs are ruining so much for eBay sellers and buyers. I've had a package stuck at U.S. customs for days and apparently this is becoming more common. It was due to be delivered to the buyer today. It's out of my hands but I've heard some stuff is being sent straight back to Canada.

On the fence about grabbing a nosebleed ticket for NIN this weekend. There is a walking tour of the cemetery at 10am the next morning and I might just opt to get up early and do that instead. Same difference?

If I put together a weekend tarot retreat or conference I can already think of all the amazing things I would cram into it. But I really don't need to take on an event that size right now. Or do I....?????????

Expanding my vintage business has taken me to some interesting moments. In recent weeks we acquired a human skull (once used in a high school art class, and already sold) and now I'm looking into how to clean rust off swords. People collect interesting things!
