There's a certain vibe that seeing Joe Don Baker show up to save the hero while dressed in a cape and hat. RING OF STEEL is a 1994 DTV movie with a nightclub that features gladiatorial swordfighting, which of course means that it's awesome.

Rewatched WARRIORS OF VIRTUE earlier, and it's growing on me as time goes by. I liked the fighting when I was younger, but now I appreciate the near-operatic performances, crazy visual design and cinematography. It's a very silly movie, but I dig it. Wuxia Kangaroos, man. That makes ANYTHING better.

A strong salute to a movie so thoroughly "1997 DTV" that I can't help but respect its existence. DEADLY INSTINCTS aka BREEDERS, is a movie that's got a practical effects man-in-a-suit monster and one of the most egregious "of its time" computer-generated opening credits sequence. I love it.

This movie is AWESOME. A cult goes after a young girl while she’s being babysat, but the regular babysitter’s pro wrestler boyfriend is subbing in for her. With that as the setup, this has got the gory goods, and some very satisfying fights. HERE FOR BLOOD is some serious fun.

THE CROW is a perfect film. I won’t argue with anyone, because it’s what I BELIEVE. I watch it every Valentine’s Day. And any other day, because it’s so fucking good that I can put it on anytime and enjoy it just as much. I love THE CROW. Always have, always will.

DEAD SPACE really did go off like that, didn’t it? Started as a survival-horror riff on Event Horizon with space undead animated & controlled by a big swirly stone, then stepped up into *The Planets That Want To Eat All Life* SCP entries don’t go nearly that hard, I swear.

I’m doing a full return to Middle Earth, so to get the ball rolling I’m watching The Appendices for The Hobbit movies. 9+ hours EACH is a test, I swear. 6 hours each for LOTR was great, but HOLY SHIT am I dreading the fatigue that’s going to set in with these.
