I pondered the relevance of a face like this in a kids playground today, as my daughter gave attention to every element bar this Gollum-esque statue.

Redrafted my distance spanning poem while considering what the journey looks like via my photos of Scotland.

Oddly excited to have had Ingstadt pen a poem that forms a montage between the two halves of The Unspeakable Awaits. The end of this story is dark and a left-field ditty didn’t really fit. So “The Tale Retold” is a halfway summary!

Over the course of the last week I managed 10k words to The Unspeakable Awaits. Idea was to clear my head. No. Now all of the questions the new sections generated are vying for attention!

Today was to be the rescheduled Springbank distillery visit, which was previously cancelled because of Storm Bert. Storms are at it again, Éowyn has put paid to the journey. The visit was a November post hospital trauma treat 😭

This piece ( Cover art for Library stories for @marklawrenceauthor.bsky.social ) was another pivotal piece for me. I was determined to do something better than my usual and I was able to. All following work had a new standard. Giddy time.

A home-grown Purple Hairstreak. Rescued as an egg from a fallen oak in February last year, and nurtured (along with five others) to adulthood. Ended up with three male and three female. This is one of the females. A stunning insect!

That bloody poet has been at it again! There were two kings, they had three rings. A city of stone, a city grown. A place for fun, you’re never done. Streets and cobbles, inns and hovels. Hawkers and wares, the crier blares. Iron and silver, all to pilfer. Rumiruna, room to lose ya.

Family are out, I’m home. Time to get some writing done. Marigold and his group are on the road to Norfingerton! It’s not the most pleasant of roads.

The fourth book in my fantasy series is The Dead and the Rotten, and it takes place directly after The Vile Realm though is more or less standalone. It has the undead in it, which I know are no longer cool anymore. It should hopefully be out this year! I've been saying that since 2021.
