This is the last company I thought would be hit. Since 2016 they've released six games (Doom, Doom VFR, Rage 2, Doom Eternal + 2 expansions, Quake Champions, and Doom: TDA + expansion which dropped YESTERDAY). How is that not meeting expectations?

Monster Hunter Wilds speedrun at GDQ making me feel inadequate as a hunter. Stunlocks Zoh Shia to death, runner completely manages (against his OWN knowledge and expectations) to skip the entire supposedly forced final attack to finish the run over a minute sooner than he expected. Speedrunning.

Ah yes, the classic "my entire personality is Nintendo" post. Make statement about competitors, show Nintendo's innocence because "look at unrelated children's product/game", proceed to get extremely passive-aggressive in own replies when people rightfully point out Nintendo's just-as-bad faults.

I keep reading the most maddening takes tonight. "Video games should not have extensive cutscenes or walls of text for narrative", "if a game can't sell me as quickly and easily as Deltarune and needs multiple hours to develop characters its bad", etc. Holy shit. Learn some patience.

First big Dalmascan RP was a success! Four hours of adventure and unmitigated fun in roleplay. God I missed DMing events. I especially missed doing it for groups who are just plain wonderful all around.

Okay okay okay...Summer Games Fest was certainly good hype. Less focus on games that were questionable (Minus Stranger than Heaven which has shown RGG studio literally does not give a shit anymore and wants to triple down on celebrities) and way more interesting reveals and surprises.

Growing up is learning just how much of Final Fantasy X's OST was done by Masashi Hamauzu, main composer behind Final Fantasy XIII.

XIV community things...Flip out about something that they don't like, call it AI generated with no real proof. PR guy comes out to talk about it and say it's not and he worked directly to know it's not. Community gets angry because "he's lying", harasses him. He locks socmed. "See? He was lying."

What is the purpose of being extremely standoffish about RP in public areas in FFXIV? When a person's carrd and search info implies they are open to RP but then when you approach them with interest they reply like, "Yeah. Cool." or their character is just flat unapproachable. What even is the point?

I've watched the new FFXIV patch trailer several times today and man...that revision of White Snow, Black Steel that's undoubtedly going to be used for the dungeon theme is really making the trailer. I need the full song in my veins via my earholes immediately.

The more I see people talk about why they like certain video games like Crimson Desert and the more I hear "it's good because it doesn't hold your hand" the more I realize that's less a reason to enjoy the game and more a reason thrown out to justify calling people who don't enjoy it "unskilled".

Everyday I learn something new about American health insurance that disgusts me. Today it's "copay maximizers". CVS and other pharmacies will try to sell you on signing up for these services to reduce insurance copay to nothing for prescriptions...except these don't pay toward deductible or OOP Max.
