Saw there was a ffxiv fan event in Brooklyn and now I'm looking up greyhound schedules for a day trip back to NYC lol. I might've not have attended if I still lived there (because I'm a bit cold on the game at the moment), but fomo sure hits different in the suburbs

Got all achievements for Hades 2 but nowhere near 100%-ing the game. I'm not really enjoying the high fear runs unfortunately, it feels like way too much variance and the early sections of each run take a bit longer than I'd like

[me, after watching one investment video]: so is the AI bubble just 7 companies jerking each other off while siphoning everyone's pensions via index funds?

WIP Figuring out how to record time lapses in OBS. I thought I recorded the second half of the sketch too, but pausing and putting the computer to sleep messed up the recording

Having your build do enough damage in later zones seems like a much bigger part of Hades 2 than it was in the first game. Feels more roguelike in that respect, lots of instances where runs feel completely hopeless after zone 2

How are people recording painting timelapses in photoshop? The suggestion I've seen is popping out a new window on a second monitor and having OBS record it while you work, which would give something similar to the built-in procreate tool. Is there a better solution I'm not aware of?

Decided to do a quick painting on Friday and now I'm on the third re-do

I don't expect ad agencies to be bulwarks for creativity, but pivoting to AI services is just so misguided. It’s like saying there are opportunities to be had because someone’s paying people to dig a 6ft hole and then stand in it.

Looking up some node js tutorials instantly put me on the “ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A JOB?!?!?!” youtube algo

surprisingly AI didn't kill the design industry by replacing workers, but by being the only companies left with marketing budgets. Might be truly grim times for agencies and freelancers once this bubble bursts

Any recommendations for shows to watch on a second screen? Need something English-speaking that's mostly dialogue-driven (like House, Person of Interest, the various Star Treks, etc). I figure it might be nice to listen to something other than reruns or vtuber streams for a change

Are there any other platforms I should consider posting my art on? I stopped using instagram and reddit since they didn't seem worth the effort, but I'm curious what other places people use.

One of life's small joys is getting a painted style commission printed and placing it in a frame to go on your wall

If people have any suggestions for stuff that would look good in my painting style, please let me know. Going forward I'm going to diversify my subject matter a bit, probably with more fighting game stuff on top of the FF14 work, but I'm open to exploring other things as well.

Spent a bit more time on this one to explore new techniques and processes. I incorporated Blender into my workflow and used paintovers for the weapons and the background. Some of it is still scuffed but it feels like I'm actually working towards solutions instead of drawing and hoping for the best

I spent 2 of the last 4 days redrawing what I drew the day before why does art have to be so hard

kinda hoped blender would let me make better hand references for myself but I haven't been able to make anything that doesn't look like a bunch of sausages.

WIP Aging up these two was trickier than I thought, don't know why I assumed it would be straightforward. Overall I'm happy with the faces but there's something a bit...uncanny about it, like I'm painting two cosplayers instead of the characters themselves.

are people super sweaty in uma musume or am I just bad at the game? Just been getting trounced in the taurus races and it turns out I had to prep specific horses in it to be competitive?

WIP trying new workflow things and experimenting a bit with my process to see if it can let me do more ambitious stuff. Kinda hit a wall towards the tail end of summer commissions, so I'm going to slow down and meander a bit to see what happens

is there a database or something of models from ffxiv in a generic 3D format like .obj? Google just brings up STLs of re-modeled props for 3D printing, but I'm curious if there's just plain geometry from the game available somewhere.

Anyone have a good workflow for rendering 3D characters? Daz3D -> Blender seems to cover everything I'd need to make references for myself, but I'm wondering what the level above that is. There's a pretty consistent look to the NSFW stuff I see so I figure they must share alot of the same tools

Been trying to make some tweaks and improvements to my style because it annoys me whenever people label it as AI. I think overusing point highlights, "floating" facial features without a sense of structure, or over-blending are pretty strongly associated with that look.
