The Sullivans, Much Love and Rest in Peace We lost Mike Sullivan in 2024 and Laura Sullivan yesterday. We want to remember what they gave us when they were here. This one hurts.

I've sort of been at a loss for words the past two days, so I'm going to let Jared's thread on Laura here speak for itself. Her work came out of a genuine and heartfelt place. She wanted the world to be a better place and was willing to fight for it. That vision cost her a lot, but she clung to it.

I'll stop here for now, but both of those stories demonstrate the value in paying attention to everything. Laura didn't just watch the racist right to gawk at it. She paid attention to it, playing the long game: understanding relationships, spotting up-and-coming stars, etc.

lol... Mike was always quietly watching. He'd pop in say something smart... something profound.. and just go back to watching. I never got to know him quite as much, but what I did know was that he was amazing. I only found out he passed when I was in New Jersey last spring.

Laura also used to send me these giant plates full of the strongest weed cookies I have ever had in my life. Seriously, I don't think she ever actually measured how much was in it. I'd nibble it, and my fat ass would be out.

When I decided to extract myself from extremist movements, she was quite literally my first antifascist supporter. I will always be grateful to her, and I wouldn't be where I am... doing what I do.. if it weren't for Laura and Mike... Much love to my fav motherly antifascist yenta and her partner.

I am devastated about Laura and Mike being gone. I once commented on Laura's blog when she wrote something about Lynx and Lamb Gaede. I was friendly, but she was surprised and asked DLJ about me. He told her I was mostly harmless and she created a fake account to monitor me on Facebook for years.
