It may seem strange to folks outside of academia, but there has been a line of prominent research within it arguing that misinformation isn't a problem. This paper pushes back, noting how those arguments often rely on poor definitions & operationalizations of what misinformation is & how it works.

Yeeep. A quick Google search is usually all you need to turn up reams of coverage for whatever topic “the media isn’t covering.” With platforms de-prioritizing news, it might feel like journalists are ignoring a story, but it’s likely just that an algorithm hasn’t surfaced it in your feed.

I remember a newsroom colleague teaching me the "site:WEBSITENAME.com" trick back when I was an early career reporter and how much of a gamechanger it was for my research. These tips are even more handy with the decline in Google search quality amid SEO spam, etc.
