Just finished reading Courtney Kampa’s brilliant poetry collection. I really can’t recommend it enough, I think everyone should read it. It brought me to tears multiple times, it feels like something very precious and important.

If you use AI to generate poems you should receive the natural consequence of that action (never being able to weep human tears again)

Watching two assassin bugs (I think) hunt right outside my window. One almost caught a little fly but missed! They are quite patient bugs. I’m scared they’ll catch one of the honey bees

My students this semester are so wonderful and smart (they are every semester, but rare that they talk so much and so brilliantly on day one). I am so very excited!!

Promised myself I’d work on my syllabi today. The windows are cleaned inside and out, the car deep cleaned, the whole house swept… the syllabi? Untouched somehow!

Sometimes I worry I do have the cilantro soap gene, and I just like cilantro anyway

My biggest travel flaw is always being sure the airport is out to get me and is going to do everything possible to make sure I miss my flight unless I double check my boarding pass and the screen every two minutes.

Honestly nothing feels like as big of an accomplishment as successfully transferring a sleeping baby to the crib on the first try
