The weather is turning very nice here in Texas. It’s almost time for conservative law makers to head down to the border for photo opportunities. They’ll act like they’re addressing an urgent problem, but here’s the real reason. Vacation weather.

When I saw this at cinema, I went in thinking 'how good could a film called Dawn Of The Dead that isn't actually Dawn Of The Dead be?'. I remember my trepidation turning to glee when Johnny Cash kicked in. I've seen it a few times since and, no, it's not Dawn but I have a good time with it.

Now watching Dawn of the Dead (2004) This is the R rated cut, which didn’t sell as well as the unrated director’s cut. I guess that set the stage for what is still Zac Snyder’s modus operandi.

Now watching: Amityville 2: The Possession (1982) The first one was from American International under Samuel Z Arkoff: Deep roots in ‘50s and ‘60s horror, trying to be modern. This one is from Dino De Laurentiis, so I’m expecting something a lot more vibrant and juicy.

I’m singing Big Girls Don’t Cry to this kitten, except with “Dark Rye” instead of “don’t cry”. He seems to like it. How’s your morning going?

Now watching: Cold Vengeance AKA Sometimes a Hero (2003) This has a nice, classic bomb on the cover so it will probably be good. You gotta love a traditional three sticks of dynamite taped together with a timer type bomb!

I love Howard the Duck without irony. It's often really fun, they did a GREAT job constructing and animating Howard himself, it doesn't have a lot of down moments, the theme song rocks ass. I try to watch it every couple of years as a genuine treat to myself.
