My mothing/birding mate Tony greeted me with an apology this morning. He knows I've never caught the Big Bue CP but he was about to show me one he had caught, just three days after he had shown me another on Friday. He lives hardly more than a mile away too.

Wet first thing so cancelled my plan to do Swithland Res and opted for a morning checking the latest draft of the 2023 LROS report. Rain stopped so went out to the back and two single Crossbills went over calling, seven minutes apart. Plus an urban singing Stock Dove. #VC55Birds.

Just had feedback from the BTO about a ringed Oystercatcher I reported - but on July 30th 2014 !! Almost 11 years ago. The bird was at least 21 years old then. I wonder if it is still alive.
