It's wild that me talking about the intersection between disability and race has so many white disabled people upset. I'm not minimizing your experience when I talk about the added struggles of being Black on top of being disabled. I face extra barriers. I'm allowed to talk about it.

Not figured out yet in 24 years of life how to get emotionally close to someone. I've got lots of friends, sure, but I've not been anyone's 'main' friend for a very long time. I've got lots of people I care about but don't know how to interact with. Interacting is hard. I do try.

I bet it would be helpful if autism assessments also included basic screening for a lot of the physical health issues autistic people are prone to. Like EDS. Just pointing families in the right direction for what to medically pursue further may be helpful, many of the conditions are painful.
