I don't say this to disparage RE9, because I really love that game, but I think playing REmake 2 has solidified my feeling that RE9's horror/action split between Grace and Leon feels a bit weird to me.

I can't believe how long I have owned REmake 2 without beating it then suddenly something about getting it on my Playstation made me lock in and finish the whole game basically in one day.

I'm not kidding when I say that I've died more on this stupid fucking section where the Police Chief is trying to find Sherry in REmake 2 than I did in my entire Leon playthrough. The most recent time, I finally evaded him but it wouldn't let me grab the fucking key for some reason.

I'm a little disappointed that some of the recent Resident Evil games don't have ranking systems. As someone who's basically been a casual observer of the series until very recently, I thought all of the games had ranking systems, and that sounded awesome to me. I love ranking systems.

Results of my first RE2 Remake playthrough!

I just locked tf in and beat Leon's story in Resident Evil 2 Remake for the first time in one sitting. That was really good! I had a lot of fun!

I always get kind of annoyed when I see people talk about ray tracing like it's a bullshit feature that does nothing but slow down performance, because I really couldn't disagree more, but whenever I play a console game with an RT option it suddenly starts to make more sense lol.

Using tinyDLSS for a game with manually keyframed animations like this just gives horrible ghosting because due to the animations not updating every frame, there's no continuous motion vectors to reconstruct the image from. So you get super obvious disocclusion artifacting. Baffling decision

The Steam Deck is one of the main things keeping me rooted in playing on PC. I'm in a weird place where I love playing on handhelds and often don't mind the sacrifices to visuals and performance necessary to make that happen, but I'm also pretty picky about quality when I do play games at my desk.

I'm kinda tempted to trade my PS5 in to get a PS5 Pro, but also I'm not sure if I can justify it with how little I play on my PS5, but also also I'd probably play on my PS5 more often if the quality difference between it and my PC was smaller. It's fun :)
