I really don't know why Link's Awakening Remake and Echoes of Wisdom weren't just capped at 30fps instead of the really unstable 60fps they ended up with, but playing them on Switch 2 with stable performance somehow feels even more glorious than other games that were boosted from 30 to 60.

Anytime I watch videos of that 11foot8 bridge that peels the top off of trucks, I'm reminded that no amount of signage and other precautions can make up for bad infrastructure that confuses people.

I played on my Switch OLED a little bit then immediately grabbed my Switch 2 and I'm just astounded how much more comfortable the Switch 2 is. I think I prefer the SwOLED screen for the motion clarity and contrast, but damn it just took a while to feel comfortable.

It feels kind of greedy to wish for a new 3D Mario when Donkey Kong Bananza is right there and extremely good, but alas, DKB didn't really fill that 3D Mario void for me. Which says nothing against the game, but it's so unique from Mario gameplay wise.

I wish that the OBS preview wasn't so choppy. Due to what I assume is the USB port just occasionally not giving it enough power for some reason, my capture card has stuttering and frame pacing issues sometimes. So when the OBS preview does it, I can never know if it's my capture card or the preview.

In an act that I'm still not sure was smart, I started Tears of the Kingdom immediately after finishing Breath of the Wild. First off, the vibes of TotK's opening are immaculate and feel like the game is going to be so much better than BotW. And also I'm realizing that the UI is actually different.

I beat Breath of the Wild for the first time in like 8 years! Wow, it really does just end. I really enjoyed it this time! I loved it last time and I love it even more now. You really kind of get what you put into it.

While I'm on this train of thought, I realized recently that I actually find the Game Boy library easier to go back to for the most part. My problem with a lot of the NES library is not due to the system being too old, but that I struggle to enjoy the game design philosophies of the era.

Well I somehow never heard that the Breath of the Wild DLC has a whole new dungeon. It was pretty decent. The boss fight was kinda crazy.

If not for the fact that I also really want a 60FPS Paper Mario TTYD patch, I think it would be incredibly funny if they gave the game a Switch 2 patch, but only boosted the resolution and not the frame rate.

It's kind of funny that a Lego Batman game is one of the best releases of the Year apparently. I would probably enjoy it, but also it's like $70 for a game that I feel just a bit "eh" about the premise of.

I should try playing Tunic at some point, but that's one of those games that I bought on Switch, never finished, and now the Switch 2 is out and I don't feel like playing that shit at 30 FPS.

I booted up Yoshi and the Mysterious Book and yeah the ghosting is really noticeable in the first level at least. More than I expected even. It's easily the biggest problem in the visual makeup of this otherwise really beautiful game. I almost wonder what it would look like with no anti-aliasing.

I think there's a lot if negative stuff you can say about the Switch 2 generation so far, and pretty reasonably so, but I really think Nintendo's artistry has been at a peak for them this gen.

Destiny 2 getting its last expansion soon seems bizarre. I don't really play or give a shit about Destiny, but it's been a part of my life for a long time in a way. My dad played a lot of the first game and Destiny 2 and I've stumbled on some friends that play it and stuff.

I was really worried about the visuals of Yoshi and the Mysterious Book after DLSS ghosting artifacts were very noticeable in much of the early footage, so I'm glad that now there's more footage of the game, it seems like it's not as big of a problem as I was worried.

The cool thing about FFVII Cloud X *insert female character here* art is that it's yuri even though Cloud's a man.

I always get so annoyed when I remember that some Gamers™ have like a weird vendetta against reviewers and game journalists. Of course, there is the issue of some publications getting completely gutted in the pursuit of more profit, but that's not what they're mad about.

What's up with the way that the Nintendo Store app on mobile provides a more comprehensive view of your play time in different games than any function on the system itself or the Nintendo Switch app.

I just finished getting all of the Breath of the Wild memories :) When I played this game near its launch, I looked up all of the memory locations. I tried not to do that this time, and I gotta say that it was pretty rewarding.

I'm thinking of just jumping right into a new Tears of the Kingdom save when I beat Breath of the Wild, and I can't really decide if that's a great or horrible idea. I think one way or the other, it will really put into perspective how much they did or didn't change the world between games.

I think in addition to the Switch 2 being the first console I've ever gotten at launch, it's also hit at a time in my life where I'm paying more attention to new releases than ever. It's pretty fun :)
