I’ve been asked to contribute a chapter to a book in which queer Baptists write about their relationship with the Church. I haven’t worked in a Baptist church since 2020, and my principle romantic partnership is a straight one. So I’m barely queer *and* barely Baptist.

I love my job. I love my congregation. I’ve never felt more disconnected from the wider Church, though.

I’ll probably spend the rest of my life wishing I had chose invisibility.

It’s really easy to forget that I’m a Virginia voter. Totally forgot to mail in a ballot. Some of my friends back in Richmond put in a lot of work for Spangberger, so I’m glad she won.

I was out last night and my phone got taken by someone. Someone who realized 1) you can’t set my phone to airplane mode from the lock screen, 2) there was no way to access anything, and 3) I got notified with a location update every time he turned it on…

The guy in the White House is happy about the World Series and there will be pictures of him smiling with the players soon, and it didn’t have to be that way. But I dunno baseball gods or something.

The Jays *would* do this the year I didn’t even care enough to go to a single game. “You don’t care, eh? Well, what if we ended up in the World Series? Betcha’d want to watch us then!”

The game ended and I said to my friends “OK I’ll see you at the party next Friday. Y’know, life? We get it back.”

I mean, I’d love for the Jays to win and all but at this point, I just want baseball to release us all from this excruciating captivity.
