This is not exactly a Christmas movie, but its depiction of a woman struggling to survive in a dehumanised worplace in the service of rampant consumerism, set against the kindness and decency of the people she encounters in the outside world, holds out some hope of redemption. Highly recommended.

On Falling is a brilliant (if bleak) study of the horrors of modern capitalism and the alienation it creates. An important reminder on why we need strong workers rights. It's definitely a film everyone should go and see.

One of those movies where nothing much seems to happen and yet it's in the smallest of scenes, and the tiniest of interactions, that a whole sad story of desperation is told even in the midst of kindness. The movie uncomfortably lingers but definitely recommended.
