Fun story: been using Malabrigo Sock in Lettuce for the green bits in my never-ending crochet bouquet. Ran out yesterday. Hit my LYS earlier: sold out & BACKORDERED. Le sigh. Got a darker green rather trying to match w/a different yarn. Here’s where we are so far.

Early this afternoon I finished crocheting the baby’s breath flowers. This is 24-29 of them - I took the pic after I’d already started attaching them to their bases and stems. I crocheted 40 total, & I think that’ll be enough for the bouquet.

Baby’s breath flowers 11-21 of probably 48. Yes, I *am* that determined. Stubborn? That’s probably it. This is Plymouth Yarns alpaca lace weight, crocheting with a 2.5mm hook, though I’m thinking about getting a smaller one & using thread instead. No pattern, just winging it. 🧶

As a lefty (knitting left-handed Continental since before the internet), I'd really like to see the terminology for this changed - something like Conventional (direction) / Reverse Conventional. Knitting Forwards or Backwards implies that we lefties are doing something wrong.

ICYMI I used this technique last night on a short row toe for a new pair of socks. Thinking about purling backwards helps it along. I’d recommend this for lefties (along w/learning continental instead of English but that’s another topic) who are having trouble with purling. #knitsky 🧶

Finally, FINALLY, the 1st sock is done. It took 7 days 😭 (context: I can knit a single color PAIR in 2 days, 1 if I do nothing else). The parts w/3 colors could use improvement, but this pair is for working out kinks. Might not have enough white left 🙄 Details in alt text 🧶

In case you’re wondering, it took me 18 minutes to knit an 83 stitch round while holding all 3 colors at once. 🫠😭🧶 But! 2 months ago I could only barely do 2 at once & couldn’t hold 3 at once to save my life. The power within! (Stubbornness) These socks are leveling up my knitting, that’s for sure.
