Rainbow retinas! While at @mblscience.bsky.social I had the opportunity to check out frog and octopus retinas using super neat birefringence microscopy invented by Michael Shribak, with student Jenna Tijerina. The vertebrate inner retina is so optically clear compared to the outer segments! 🧪🐸🐙👀

Also - some of your own collaborators, trainees, and *reviewers* cannot appreciate your red/green LUTs. Easy to change. And impactful. Ask your mutant colleagues for input if you are not sure if your images are accessible. imagej.net/imaging/colo...

PSA: around 5-8% of the population has a color vision impairment for red/green. Many talks at #2025ICDB still use red-green LUTs on slides that are not accessible to everyone. Changing to more accessible colors is doable and easy. We can do better. #devbio #ICDB2025 #WeTheColorBlind
