Six years ago on this day my mom died after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. I’ll never stop missing her. The void she left behind feels much gentler these days, but it’s still there and I’ve learned to live with it.

I was singing along while filling my dad’s pill organizer for the week. The “American Idiot” album was such a landmark album for Middle Millennials like me who came of age right around the time it was released.
