Check in on your friends who are new(er) parents... we need it lol. My 11 month old is teething and has only napped an hour since 6:30am. He wants to be picked up and cuddled AND be put down to toddle about at the same time. He is big mad at discovering that isn't possible but demands I try anyway.

Spooky month is nearly here, which means the spooky season decor will soon be going up in the flat. It also means I can buy halloween themed clothing and a costume for the bub! He's going to be 1 in October, I can't believe how fast time flies!

In today's episode of lucky charity shop finds... This beautiful old Menelaus Blue Morpho butterfly specimen. Need to rearrange a few things to find the best place to display it (we like trinkets and cool decor stuff in this household and must keep things away from little hands).

The local charity shops have been great recently. Recent finds inc.: - A ton of wooden train set pieces - A Galileo's thermometer - A stratton compact (I lost my bag with this in and I'm still devastated lol) - A new with tags Voodo Vixen swing skirt - Octopus socks - Framed original Ram artwork

I had a physiotherapist appointment today. I wasn't expecting it to go well, but for once I someone who really cared. Also turned out the issue wasnt as bad as it seemed on scan results! Having had bad physio experiences over a decade ago, today's experience was a pleasant surprise.

Critter Kitchen arrived! Never had a game arrive so well packed! And damm, Cardboard Alchemy weren't kidding when they said deluxe! There's SO MANY TOKENS (all wooden or metal), cards, and custom storage. The artwork is gorgeous. The quality is incredible. Cannot wait to get this to the table!

I cannot wait for December. Dragonmeet cannot come fast enough! I haven't been to any cons yet this year (no UKGE for the first time since I started going!). I miss seeing folks! I'm also looking forward to getting the small goblin a new suitably nerdy outfit for his 2nd Dragonmeet!

I read A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and now I'm back in my ASoIaF feels, specifically about After the Fyre (A wonderful streamed game, watch it on youtube). One of the best games I've ever played in. So here I am, long after that game ended, writing more Mara fiction (if you know, you know).

I had the honor of doing the layout for the Space 1999 TTRPG. I'm so thankful to @peregrinecorone.bsky.social who invited me to work on this and who has done an incredible job creating this book, and to the folks at @gerryanderson.bsky.social for trusting me with such a beloved IP.

I'm sadly not going to make it to UKGE this year, ending my 6/7 year unbroken streak of attending! The logistics of going with the bub in tow just didn't work out this year, so I'll look forward to seeing all you cool folks at Dragonmeet or UKGE 2026!

In case anyone was curious, it arrived! I played a few games last night and I'm currently enjoying going back over one of them while the bub naps! I've never played on a really nice wooden chess set, so this is a childhood goal finally achieved!

Currently deep in the parenthood trenches but since bub now goes to sleep a earlier, I get a couple hours where I get to unwind and play video games and I might bite the bullet, ignore the "revamp your twitch before trying to stream again" voice in my head and just go live and see what happens...

One thing I really miss this time of year as a freelancer (despite the fact I'm on maternity leave) are things like Secret Santa and work Christmas parties. I know its not everyone's cup of tea, but I did enjoy that little bit of 'corporate' fun.

Dragonmeet as always was amazing. First big family day out with bub and I was lovely to spend it seeing folks again. We were only there for a little while so if I didn't get to say hi, I'm so sorry! Hopefully will see folks again soon!
