How was worship today? #CofEPeeps ⚓️✝️ The chapel in prison was about 3/4 full, we did Holy Innocents. “The soldiers who carried out Herod’s orders - can they be forgiven?” Some reluctant ‘yes’es and nods. Before that question many wished for revenge, I think. Amazing preaching from the 1/2

Another varied village parish day for us: 10am Christingle which brought in 8 families we’ve never seen before; 6.30pm 9 Lessons & Carols with 205 there - standing room only! Two new compositions sung by the choir. Mince pies and mulled wine after. #CofEPeeps ✝️⚓️

How was #worship today? Two Anglican extremes: Café #Church in the morning, based on One Body One Faith material; #Advent Carol service in the evening, robed choir, O Antiphons, the works. Loved both, a really uplifting day! Attendance - 32 in the morning and 57 in the evening. #CofE #CofEPeeps ⚓️✝️

Our old stone church is freezing (heating on the blink). 8am and 10am services were moved into the Parish Room which has efficient radiators. With 30 crammed in it got quite hot, ironically! Was surprisingly loud in such a small room when we started singing - All Saints hymns are bangers! #CofE ⚓️✝️

Sunday worship: chapel in the prison. The men were v attentive, although/because there were fewer than usual (due to the clocks changing? 🤷). Always a delight to lead the singing but especially when we have men with good voices. Prayer time was calm and serious, space to focus. #CofEPeeps ✝️⚓️ #CofE

A joyful all-age service today with a baptism. Lots of great singing and smiles on everyone’s faces 😊🙂😊 We served coffee and tea in the church for the first time with our new tables and chairs. Harvest Festival in Chapel at the prison. Lovely prayerful atmosphere, great singing by the men. They filled in a slip, & it placed in the offering box - items to be bought in Tesco by a volunteer next day, using donated funds.
