Seriously I don't even like football (american, not big on regular football either tbh), but I am getting so sick and tired of people playing coy with its most prominent event. Talent is a bullshit concept that's been used against artists. "Oh you're so talented" "Oh you're naturally talented" No, artists spend HOURS UPON HOURS drawing, refining, learning, increasing their skill set. Talent, to me controversially, waters down the time ANY ARTIST OF ANY SKILL LEVEL spends

You comment on one (1) post talking about veganism without mentioning you yourself happily eat meat, with the original post itself denouncing militant vegans, and you get the exact sorts of vegans the original post was denouncing thinking you're One Of Them :S

It's really frustrating how people often use (with varying degrees of success) their culture's taboos to try and tell people who aren't of that culture what they can or cannot do with their own art. It literally isn't hurting you if someone draws or writes about x thing in good faith.

And it's not skill level based either. I used to feel like this painting as a kid. It just makes you feel closer to the universe or something. It's hard to explain if you've never felt it before. I try to explain it in my comic.

I'll never understand why anyone would want to remove the part of art that makes it magical. Making something from nothing is the best legal high you'll experience. When you sit and just get lost in your work for hours and hit that perfect flow. It's like drinking real good wine. I love creating 😭

society in general needs to learn how to be wrong again. like... nobody can accept when someone points out what's wrong with their opinions. nobody can accept when the politician they're supporting does something bad. no one can admit they made a mistake. they always have to be right.

finding a balance between staying informed and overwhelming yourself with news intake is important. obviously you should know when the rights and the lives of yourself and your neighbors are at risk, but news overconsumption and doomscrolling have serious consequences. i know from experience.
