last night, i started a new DoA2U save on my 360 as my OG xbox died. As a kid, I wasn't good enough to get 50 survival mode wins, so I couldn't complete the item collection, forcing me to play story mode 100+ times to unlock all the costumes bc that was easier. as an adult, i managed to do it 🥹💖

LRP i actually played Milano last year in JP with ally (who was translating everything for me) and it's such a delightful little game. I can't believe it's available in English now. that's such a pleasant surprise 😭💖

my fighting game hot take is that cinematic storymodes suck shit and I hate them. fighting game stories should be drip fed to you via minimal character interactions and unique arcade endings that you have to make sense of and thats IT.

DoA2 Ultimate is my personal fav version of DoA2 but in my experience, it's not as accessible due to it being an OG xbox exclusive. it's part of the xbox backwards compatibility program iirc, but that requires buying a new xbox and realistically who wants to do that (me, if they included tittyball)

love acting nostalgic over DoA2 as if i literally wasn't playing it last night (and like if i don't put it on literally every emulation device i come across)

While Ninja Gaiden Black is often considered Team Ninja’s magnum opus, a strong case could be made for DOA 2. It’s fast, fluid, still looks fantastic, and the core mechanics are approachable enough that anyone can have a good time. Fun Factor: 5/5 Vibe: 5/5
